NEW REIMBURSEMENT SYSTEM FOR VENTILATOR-DEPENDENT RESIDENTS FOR ILLINOIS MEDICAID

The Public Act of 96-0743 was passed by the Illinois General Assembly on August 25, 2009.  This bill requires the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) to reimburse nursing facilities for ventilator-dependent residents using a separate system from the prior method through the MDS-based reimbursement system.
