If you have not tested Medicare claims using only your National Provider Identifier (NPI) in the primary fields (billing, pay to, rendering, or performing provider) now is the time to do so. Beginning May 23, 2008, no legacy number (OSCAR, CCN, UPINs, PINs, etc.) will be accepted on the 837I, 837P, CMS-1500, UB-04, or paper claims in any fields. Use of legacy numbers, beginning May 23, 2008, will result in claims being rejected by Medicare. jkdlklaklaklfkla jdjjkdk
