CMS RELEASES ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION REQUEST LIMITS FOR 2010 |

Based on the feedback received from the Recovery Audit Contractors (RACs), providers/suppliers, and various associations, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services (CMS) has modified the additional documentation request (ADR) limits for the RAC program in 2010. CMS will determine limits for each RAC on an annual basis and introduce a new “per campus” concept to determine maximum limits on medical records that may be requested in each of the eight (45-day) periods per year.
